Christchurch City Libraries Community Read

August 4th, 2015

Rachael King’s novel Magpie Hall has been selected as the 2016 Christchurch City Libraries Community Read in August. The motto is “one book, one community” and “take a walk on the dark side”, and everyone is encouraged to read and discuss one book. Unlimited free ebook downloads are available for the month of August for library members.  Magpie Hall is a great fit for the project, as the book is set in Canterbury. The launch takes place at South Library on August 7, with Rachael talking about the inspiration and research behind Magpie Hall at 11am, and an evening event with a troop of comedy improvisers from 7.30pm. For all the details, go here.
